Digital sound data

The sounds that you hear in the world around you are in the form of analog signals, but can be easily digitized and stored on disks just like other data. The analog waves are sampled at evenly spaced points and the sound at those points is measured and stored as digital values called sound data. When this digital data is played back, your sound card and speakers use the digital values to re-create the original analog waves.Various software programs record. webshow and edit digitized sounds. Editing programs adjust the individual instrument sounds with a mixer to get the tone or effect you want. You can sequence audio by cutting and pasting sections much as you edit words and phrases in a word processing program.
Window s Sound Recorder plays, records and soften sounds.
WAVE files are the most common file format for windows sounds These files take up a lot of space approximately I megabyte for each minute of playing time. These files have the extension wave.
